Oscar winner and Liberties resident Brenda Fricker invites us into her home near the Coombe for an afternoon of conversation. She lives a happy, peaceful life here and delights in the simple pleasures afforded to her by a close knit community where the local butcher and greengrocer can be called actual friends. Her letterbox is too small for scripts and packages that may arrive, and so they are routed to the local newsagents. “I’d never work if it wasn’t for the Geoghegan’s in the corner shop.”
